Smartphone goes from 94% to 1%-7% within minutes but I can still use the smartphone for hours on end after it drops down (4 to 5 hours)

What could be wrong?

Is it the battery?

This is Android Samsung phone.

What phone and battery? I had a similar calibration issue on a 10,000 mah battery that needed a custom kernel. It would stay stuck at 1% until I removed the battery and put it back.

The custom kernel fixed that. But if you are using a smartphone with no ability to remove the battery, I would try to get it replaced ASAP.

You could also try wiping and see if that helps...

My first S7E did that. Charge up to 100%. In an hour it's at 8% while turned off! RMA'd it.

what you need to do is calibrate your battery. there are many apps on the playstore for that

might be able to simply reset the counter by removing the batt then
press PowerOn for 15 secs then reinstall the batt and turn on normally . . .
