smartgart / fast-writes question

i just reinstalled my cat 3.2 drivers and it fixed a bunch of issues w/my 9700 pro... BUT, i didnt install smartgart this time. i can change my agp settings in the bios, but are fast-wrties enabled by default or is that a smartgart default setting? how can i find out whether fast-writes are enabled so i can kill them????? if they are enabled,though, everything is stable so far ( 3dmark03 has artifacts @ 364/337, so does doom3 alpha , but all other games are stable )... tia
