smartfan question

hey guys,
i downloaded smart fan 4.27 when i found out that it showed right temps for evga nf-41.
so there's temp1, temp2, temp3. which one is cpu temp?????
i read an article on how its supposed to work and on abit motherboard it was temp 2. could it be different on mine?? thanks

I think you mean Speedfan, unless they changed the name from 4.26 :).

You have to do some investigative work to get everything labelled correctly. Speedfan is able to load configurations from disk for various motherboards, and they have some of these available on their site. If yours isn't in the list, then what you need to do is hit the web and hunt around. You want to know what the various sensor registers on the chipset are mapped to, and chances are someone else has done the work.

For mine I was able to figure some of the fans and temperatures out from what I knew about the system. The fan running at over 3k is the cpu fan, the one running at 2400 is the rear case fan, etc. But eventually I found a page with some specs for my board and got everything labelled correctly.
