Smartcards in Windows 2000

More information if you please. Have you tried to install it? Ok, maybe that was obvious but did you get any errors or exclamation signs by the hardware in device manager? Any notes on the event viewer about it? YOu might try searching the vendor for a relevant driver as a lot of equipment usb based has problems with win 2k. Most of it is driver based.
 
Well, It's a GemPlus based USB reader. I actually got the reader from American Express since they have the smartchip in their Blue cards. Win2k detects is fine and installs the drivers but after that, I try looking for option to use a smartcard for logon and I can't find one.
Btw, I don't have any smart cards with me. I'm trying to look to see how this is done before I get any.
