SMART - UltraATA CRC error count - 549

Is this bad? I think that the value is in HEX.

Shows "B" reallocated sectors, which is 11 in dec.

POH shows 2 years in operation.

This is for an old WD 40GB BB IDE HD.

I'd think there is a possibility those errors could be from a lose cable, impact to the computer case, or power failure at some point.
I have a few errors on my 7yr old raptor, but they happened years ago and I havn't had any more.

Unless you continue getting more errors (after checking cables), then I wouldn't assume the drive is failing. Although good backups are always a good idea 🙂
