For those of you who think a 4" screen is too big, stop being a little girl and grow some man-hands. :awe:

This. Anything less than 4.3" cramps my hand trying to type without hitting three letters at once.

I don't see what the big deal is. There are a ton of options for Android phones and if screen size is a big deal, then go with a smaller phone.

That's not a phone in my pocket. I'm just happy to see you.

Heyooo!

Despite what you may hear, size is important. And, lest we forget, weight. Also, it's one thing for a gadget to fit in your pantaloons pocket and another to still allow for comfortably moving about and sitting down.

Believe that if you want but a percentage of users won't buy the bigger iPhone because of the same reasons this article explains. I know you are going to put words into my mouth and assume actions on my part because I'm apparently "an apple fan" but you're wrong. I don't like anything apple makes other than the iPhone, and if it was, what I consider to be, too big like the Droid X, I wouldn't have bought it.

I personally believe you. However, you are overestimating the intelligence of the true 'apple fanboys' he mentioned. Steve Jobs can sell these people absolutely anything. Anything.

Got to fondle an Evo yesterday and I liked it's girth. Definitely not too big. Now I need to go check out a Droid X...it was definitely easier to read than my Droid, less squinting at everything.

its CNN. They only report what Obama says is ok to report.

Wouldn't want to report on the 2 wars, 3 oil spills, North Korea threatening nuclear war, the majority of the country wanting a full political overhaul of Washington....

Naah. Lets report that cell phones have gotten bigger. Good job CNN!

Fox News has basically the same article in video format. Along with articles on Comic-Con, and a monkey attacking a flying squirrel. At least they're getting the important things CNN is missing. :)

I think manufacturers need to start putting higher resolution on phones as future SoC are capable of it.
We need to start seeing 960x640 on 4" phones and 1280x800 on 4.3"+ phones.
Once you start doing this, you can call everyone of them retina displays.

Well, phones were getting too small at one point. The keys were tiny, the screen and everything on it as well. There was an episode on Futurama poking fun at the tiny phones we had at the time.

My 3.7" HTC Desire fits in the pocket of all my jeans, with some effort in some cases. I wouldn't go bigger, especially when using a protective case (which is a must IMO). But the 3.7" size is a nice step up from the 2.x" or even 1.x" screens of past phones. I actually wish they had made it thicker, to make room for a larger battery and make it easier to grip.

i was playing with the X over the weekend, my phone is about the same size as the screen on that sucker. didnt feel too big tho, but i have large-ish hands. i rarely leave my phone in my pocket when i sit anyway, too much trouble fishing it out if i get a call or need it. this phone is definitely on my mebbe list.
