These are some of the most intelligent beings out there. Studies have shown their cognitive abilites to be equivalent to that of a 5-year-old human. They are capable of such advanced concepts as learning the actual use of the words they mimic, as well as concepts of characteristic differentiation (among a blue square, red square, and blue circle, "what item is blue and square?" yields a proper choice). They are fascinating animals.
