Smart or dumb - putting copper ram-sinks on your Radeon memory?

I just put some copper ramsinks on my 9800Pro ram. Took 2 per chip per side - 16 altogether. Used the tape/TIM supplied with the sinks. Can this actually make things worse?

Yah but I always worry about that crappy tape actually trapping heat. I was just wondering if anyone else had done this and seen a performance improvement.

I don't think it'll get worse... you probably wouldve gotten better performance out of thermal adhesive but i don't think its worth it.

It depends on how much actual surface area the copper is adding, and exactly how crappy the TIM is. The one thing I can tell you is that its not making things much better.
