SMART on newer MB's?

was having problems with my PC last week, so on a whim I ran Spinrite 6, and it pops up a message saying "smart has detected the drive is eminate danger of failing, don't run spinrite, back up all data asap"

I have a Gigabyte 939 MB, agp version nothing fancy. I have poked around in the bios a few times looking for a option to enable SMART, nada... I'm guessing it supports it because when I boot I get "smart disabled" for both of my HD's.
