Smart doorbell alternatives

My wife wants to install something that would ring her iPhone when someone is at the door while out. Be able to communicate through voice, video is nice but not necessary. We are living overseas, so popular smart doorbells like Ring are not sold here. There is a good wifi signal at the door.
Are there any other options available?

I use both Arlo Pro and Ring Pro. Look into Arlo Pro. It is not the perfect solution for you but you can take it with you when you leave.

Thanks. All of these seem to depend on cloud storage, etc. I seem to remember years ago a guy setting something similar up using a cheap android tablet and his own computer with a security cam system. Could something simular be patched together to work with iPhone?

The Arlo Pro has local storage option. You can use your own uSB storage device.

I would think a WyzeCam would work out pretty nicely. It has 2 way audio, camera, and it can send notifications to your phone.
It is $20 US, so, not expensive at all. You can slap in a microSD card in these as well, and it will record things, along with sending a small 12 sec clip to Amazon's cloud.

WyzeCam & XiaoFang are pretty much the same cams, they are all made by iSmartAlarm, just changes in the firmware & the app that is running them on the phone.
