My mum has tasked me with researching a new PC. The upgradeability and relatively low cost of a desktop is desireable but the portability of a laptop around the house would be nice also. These WLAN Smart Displays allow for something in between as far as functionality, if not cost. However, as they use the slower 802.11b standard it seems it may be best to wait for either 802.11g or dual band 802.11a/b ("a" being as fast as "g" -enough for streaming DVD). Why does it seem like cool stuff is always at least six months away from when you want it?
