Smart card reader and Windows XP?

Hey guys, I'm looking to get one of the Smartcard Readers from American Express, but I'm wondering if they will work with Windows XP, as the usb one on their site says:

"Choose a USB Reader if...

Your PC or laptop was built after 1997, has a working USB port, and runs Windows 98. "

The other option is a serial reader and I know I don't want that.

Anyone have one, and can use it with XP w/ no problems?
