Smallville will move to Wednesdays at 9/8 C starting June 1st, and this fall Smallville's new season will air on Thursdays at 8/7 C.

i know i have an odd taste in television, but does this bother anyone else?

true that.

I was in Chino the other day. It's nothing what The OC claims it to be.

i visited krypton the other day. it's nothing like smallville claims it to be.

welcome to fictional television. if we all wanted non-fiction, we'd be watching the history and discovery channels all day.

Wasn't crapping. Comparing The OC to Smallville is like comparing a flaming bag of Dog Sh!t to a fine steak.

Smaville should have the better time slot as its the better show, hands down.

And if 24 doesn't suck next season.

edit: actually, LOST starts in September or October, whlie 24 starts in January ...

both shows have their high and low points. there is some very farfetched science fiction in smallville, but it's still a catchy show -- i've watched every episode of both the OC and smallville since the beginning.

i know ATOT is a forum mostly filled with tech geeks, and i do expect more people to be biased towards smallville for that very reason, but i KNOW there are people out there who watch the OC, like here. now, it's a matter of finding who watches both shows.

I'm a teenager ... I watch neither, but if you were to force me to watch either, I'd choose Smallville.

Why?

Because of the way The OC makes non-Californians view So Cal.

Whenever I go out of town and someone asks me where I'm from, I tell them I'm from San Marino, an affluent city in Southern California. Almost always, they immediately answer, "Oh, you must be from the OC, that's a rich area"

First of all, no, it's in LA County

Second of all, it's Orange County, not the friggin OC

Third of all, Orange County is not a rich county. It has rich cities, but it's not a rich county.

what do you think people view kentucky as from watching smallville?

let the ignorant folks assume what they want from television shows. seriously, did 24 change your opinion on muslims or the chinese because of a few individuals that were portrayed as extremists? it's television. it isn't real.

I wouldn't view Kentucky any differently from watching Smallville ... it's a fake city, right? The "OC" is a real place in So Cal. The writers write the show in such a way that it gives people the wrong idea of a real place.

Don't forget they wanted to rename the damned airport. Count officials have pretty much said they're happy to have their image improved by the show, though it wouldn't take much.

similarly, a lot of tv shows based in new york city give the impression that nyc isn't a safe place to visit or live. it's all wrong. we just have to deal with it.

but let's not deviate from the topic anymore, please. your opinion is noted. i honestly cannot say which show i like better; i like both equally. i know that orange county isn't what the television show makes it out to be, but that's not why i watch the OC. i watch it because it has a catchy storyline, just like smallville does. i guess you just have to get involved in the drama to understand my perspective.

I don't know what you're talking about since I've only seen 2 or 3 episodes of The OC (I was at a friends house each time and didn't watch it under my own will)

They wanted to rename one of the airports (John Wayne Airport or something) to The OC Airport or some other crap. County officials basically liked the idea that young people see the show and think their shithole is a nice place to live.

oh well, I don't care when it's on, just as long as I get to watch it...

I know, it's like a soap for teens or whatever but for some reason I'm just addicted to it. I can't help watching it, and it's sad because it's just filled with drama (and I hate drama)...

as long as my TiVo gets it I don't care when it's on...

yeah. i'm no teen, but i fault my then 16-year-old sister for getting me into it.

my alma mater (columbia university) also had positive newspaper coverage in their arts section on the OC, so i that justified the "addiction" even further. :D

You went to Columbia?! That's my dream school!

Gotta work on my SAT scores though ...

work, work, work! if you're into engineering, columbia's engineering school (SEAS) has a much higher acceptance rate than the school of arts and sciences (columbia college). however, the curriculum is quite rigorous, but if you're into it, go for it. i'd advise against applying to SEAS and then transferring to columbia college in your sophomore year as it's almost impossible to get in (a lot of people think that's an easy thing to do).

just keep in mind that as long as you have great grades and good recommendations as well as an amazing essay, you may be forgiven if your SAT scores are kind of on the low side. i'd try to avoid that though, but those are just some pointers.

(and again, thank you for deviating from the thread! PM me if you have more questions.) :p

The OC is awesome but I'm still bummed that they killed off Caleb Nichol :(

At least he's still on "NCIS".

Sorry I haven't seen any 24 episodes, yet.

Few people know this but he's an Australian actor.
