I thought that by now they would have been doused in gasoline and set on fire by angry users. Maybe they've been reincarnated.

NEC bought them. NEC makes a version of the PocketGear, albeit a thicker version.

Battery life is short but still. Has a built-in SD slot and looks pretty nice too.

How do they expect to sell anything if it says "Packard Bell" on the front of the product? I have never in my life recommended a Packard "Hell" anything, and I'm not about to start now.

What other PocketPCs have replaceable batteries? Does Jornada?

The iPAQ is the only PocketPC2002 devices with a 3.8 inch screen. I personally prefer 3.5. The pixels are closer together for a crisper image. And ClearType actually works like it should with the other PocketPC2002 devices.

Jornada 56x and Casio E-200

That's true. ClearType screwing up on the iPAQ is a bummer.

I want to "upgrade" my iPAQ in the coming months but there are so many darn choices. :) I wonder when X-Scale will go mainstream.

My Packard Bell may have been slow, but it lasted me 5 long years. I really cannot complain about them stability wise.

hahaha

The good ol' days. I remember Packard Bell during perhaps when P200 or PII were mainstream. Kinda forgot about them as time passed.
