Anyone know what the smallest motherboard is? Smallest within a reasonable price range :) Current processors...

Anyone know what the smallest motherboard for AMD k6-2's is?

Heheh not that I'm following *all* your threads or anything but didn't you just ask almost this exact question on Tuesday of this week? :)

I thought you figured that the ECS k7sem was the best for you?

Are you looking for a Micro-ATX motherboard or something ultra small like the Shuttle SV24 one but costs less? There are some cool looking super mini PCs (I think it was called the Espresso PC, check slashdot) which hold Celeron 500s or so and have everything onboard and is about the size of a smallish book.

The smallest boards you're likely going to find for current processors (ie Athlon, P4) are Micro-ATX. If you go back to Celerons, P3s, or super integrated solutions you can find much smaller systems, but they won't be expandable at all (except in the case of the Shuttle SV-24) and they will cost a good deal more than a micro-atx board.

What might be a better question would be saying what you need a small PC for and then people would have a better idea of how to respond or where to point you. :)

hehe.. well the previous post was for the smallest mobo with integrated lan, video, and sound.

I'm trying to think of something to do for the next week while I'm off, that's why I've been asking sooo many questions. I think I've decided to scrap the previous idea.

What I'm thinking now is to get a second small motherboard and make a computer case that will fit it and my current motherboard and components. Then get a small ~5 inch lcd TV screen. So, my main comp will do whatever I do and the second motherboard will run my instant messaging & other small programs all the time. So, I could be playing a game, etc. on the main comp and let my IM run on the little screen & 2nd motherboard. Yeah, sounds stupid, but I'm bored...

VIA has a C3 processor at 800Mhz working on a all-in-one motherboard thats only 170mmx170mm. ( Lan, sound and video )
Or 6.7 inches by 6.7 iniches.
Now thats small.

you could probably find some old p1 or p2 laptop boards, those things are tiny :)
