Where can I find the smallest Linux to download for X86 with 16MB ram?

You probably don't want "smallest Linux". You probably want "reasonably usable, reasonably small Linux with a GUI".

x86 is too vague. You need to tell us if it's 286, 386, 486, Pentium or higher. There is am appropriate Linux for each. (No joke)

Pentium 66MHz Gateway with 16MB of Ram. I got this PC from my job. It ran Novell.

Oh yea. I got one of this Linux CDs with Turbolinux and I followed the instruction diligently by making the bootable floppies. However, the floppies wouldn't be read all the way and it just hung there. What can I do or where can I download a bootable linux ISO? I'm on a 56k.
The computer has a 700MB HD

You have a bunch of alternatives.

Pee Wee Linux

Peanut Linux

Vector Linux

Tiny Linux

Vector Linux is really bleeding edge. Peanut Linux is well established as being user friendly. Tiny Linux is very, um, Tiny and not intensive on resources at all. Pee Wee is pretty new. Which one you choose will depend on what you value most in an OS. None of these distros are above 100 megs, so you could download all of them in a night.

I had mandrake 6.0 running on a P75 with 16 megs of ram for a long time. You don't NEED gui. Therea are plenty of linux distros that'll run fine on that box.

There is also ZipSlack that (duh!) can fit on a 100MB zip.
