Smallest Digital Camera but w/great picture quality? *edit* with pics

comparisons

How small are we talking about? Pocketable small (Exilim, U40) or pursable small (S400, SD110, T1)?

I personally have a Sony DSC-U40 and consider that the best compromise between price, size and quality for a pocketable camera. My sister has an Exilim and while I think it's pretty good, it was thin enough that I was worried about snapping it when I sat down. If price was not a consideration, Canon SD10 would have been a consideration but it was also a bit too big to carry in a pocket comfortably.

this chick is a promoter for clubs, and she takes pictures of other hot chicks.

so need a camera that she can carry around (she is petite), but must be GREAT QUALITY so the hot chick pictures will come out!!

So she's going to be taking pictures inside clubs (dark/night shots)? Normally, I'd recommend the Optio S4 as I love mine, and it is tiny, but if that's the situation, she's going to want something with the best low-light performance. The S4 is great in low light with the flash up to about 10 feet, but after that, it gets grainy. Perhaps someone else can recommend a small cam with great low light performance?

I think my SD100 takes great dark low light photos..the flash works well. I've used in places that were very dark and they came out fine.

Compromises compromises. I'd like to say that the U40 does pretty well in those type of situations since you can hang it from your neck on a lanyard and startup time is almost nil, I usually take it to parties and clubs for the same reason (though mine are personal). But then again if it is something work related she'll probably want better quality pictures. How big a part of her job is taking pictures, since a DSLR or higher end (and bulkier) camera like a Olympus 4040 will perform well in lowlight environments?
You have to remember that smaller cameras=smaller lens and sensor=not so good lowlight performance.

Not an awesome camera. Good on paper, poor in execution. Feels cheap, battery life sucks, takes mediocre pictures. I was excited about it when I first saw it as well, though.

Definately a great camera, I 'borrowed' my friend's for a few days after he left it at my house. Too bad they used the MS Duo, those things are impossible to find.

I'm not sure if it would be a good choice though, it has a relatively slow lens and a weak flash so it's good for personal shots but for group shots I had trouble with the exposure. Dumping the ISO up to 400 works pretty well though, the noise was minimal which suprised me.

I wouldn't recommend any of the Minolta X cameras....they are very bad at low light pictures.
This is the most common problem with micro camera....low lights.

The Nikon 3700 is also a very compact, great looking camera(the best looking compact camera IMHO) and from the reviews, it does a very good job at low light pictures. I've been wanting to get it since its been out but I have the Minolta Xt and no use in wasting money.

if he wants the absolute smallest, that would be the canon SD10. smallest with great picture quality.
the picture quality of the Pentax and Sony aren't as good as the Canon.
i can't comment on the minolta but i would lump it with the Sony and Pentax since no one knows minolta for pic quality.

The problem you have are two fold. You need small size and good low light pictures. Those are contradictory. No ultra compacts have good low light performance.
