Small stuttering after new monitor

Okay last option, gotta have some oppinions from the outside so here goes.

Ive been playing Battlefield 3 on this rig since July/August - never had any problems, atleast not something I couldnt fix fairly easy. But this, is driving me crazy. I recently got a new Samsung S27B350 27" monitor. Since I got this monitor, Battlefield 3 is having some sort of small stuttering/fps-drops, every other second when I move my mouse from side to side, its like it either "pauses" or skips a frame.

I have no idea anymore what this might be. My previous resolution was 1680x1050, now im running 1920x1080.
Please dont tell me its because I now use a higher resolution, cause I tried both these (and even lower) resolutions and the problem is still there, got almost no fps-loss from 1680x1050 to 1920x1080. Battlefield 3 is the ONLY game I have issues with though, Ive tried BC2, MOHW ,PS2, Skyrim etc - No problem there at all..

Anyway, I have tried messing around with user.cfg, different values of nearly every setting in there, ForceRenderAheadLimit etc. - No help.

I tried previous GPU drivers, installing monitor driver, checking usage of VRam and CPU etc, nothing seems out of the ordinary.

Only, and only last guess I have, is that this monitor is connected through HDMI > Displayport (I think it is?) my old monitor was connected via DVI. Now since this monitor only has the option for VGA or HDMI I couldnt try using DVI.

But is it possible, that the HDMI > Displayport connection is causing this problem? Anyone else have any suggestions? or perhaps even been in the same situation?

Thanks
- Andy

Does your new monitor have a driver that needs loaded?

EDIT - Nevermind, I see you tried...

I found a VGA cable though (Silly me, didnt check the package my monitor came in properly) so I plugged it in via DVI converter, cause my GPU doesnt support VGA-port.

And since that, I now have:

- A 10-15fps gain.
- With Vsync disabled, there is no longer any screentearing.
- The small stutter/fps drop is completely gone.
- 45fps or lower is not nearly as noticeable in contrast to using HDMI/Displayport.

And honestly.. I see no difference regarding image quality... at all.

So, problem solved I guess.

EDIT: The small stuttering/FPS-skipping is NOT gone.. It still happens, and the screen-tearing somehow cameback.
I seriously have no idea whats going on anymore..

Check your device manager for conflicts. If there are any problems you'll see a yellow triangle with exclamation point.

curious... if you unplug your devices from the wall let them cool down a while, turn all the components back on, lower your game resolution bellow 1600x or 1080 just for testing.. just put it really low, how long does it take for the stutter to return then?

perhaps try for testing purposes resetting your gfx card back to default clock speeds. and what PSU are you using?

EDIT: oh yeah also are you using( i forgot what its called i personally never used it).... some game driver app or something that utilizes both your nvidia and onboard for vsync fps enhancment, i remember reading someone post about it but seriously forgot the app name or what its called you prolly know what i mean though?
