I have all sorts of tools in my garage in tool boxes.
the tool boxes are on one of those plastic 5 level shelves from walmart.

it's a pain to find a tool because I have to remove he toolbox from the shelf then bring it outside of the garage to open it because my car takes up most of the space in the one car garage.

Can anyone recommend me an inexpensive slide out tool storage that fits on a shelf?
thx

This was on sale a few hours ago for $66 from Amazon:

Something like that would allow you to buy bins and separate and label things.

Lowe's had a large rolling tool chest on clearance last year and my parents got it for me for Christmas, but it was $399...similar to this, but had drawers on 2 sides and shelves on one... https://www.lowes.com/pd/Kobalt-41-in-W-x-41-in-H-11-Drawer-Steel-Tool-Cabinet-Blue/1000014722

I like being able to put drills and sanders and impact drivers and impact sockets and air guns, etc all in these drawers to keep them in one place. I use a label maker to label the drawers so I know what goes where. Organization costs money, unfortunately.

I also bought a few 77" tall Gladiator shelves. I was able to link up 2 sets of them to have essentially 3 columns of storage to work with and just lose a shelf or two from each set to create the 3rd one. This has gotten a lot of stuff off the floor in my garage.

thx but I was looking for something that fits on a shelf.

something like this for $20:

but instead of little bins inside, I want it empty so I can throw tools in there.
stick this inbetween shelves and pull open when I need tools

I picked up one of these (or one similar to it) a couple of years back:

however, it AIN'T gonna fit on a shelf...at least not easily. :p
