i need an ATX PSU that is small in size and can give me around 150watts. it is for a car install.

what is the smallest thing out there?

are all PSUs cube-ish or are there other shapes?

the size i have to work with is about 8" x 4" x 4"? (LxWxH)

sorry if this is a dumb question, but i did a search and came up with nothing

thanks

Check out the Shuttle website, they have a nice small 200watt psu that is oblong in shape, and doesn't cost too much.

Kustompc.co.uk sell them I think.

i have just read that the the power supply mentioned above (PC40) is "the only replacement PSU" for shuttle computers. does that mean that it is not ATX?

i cannot find if it is an ATX PSU anywhere. can anyone confirm that this PSU will work with an ATX mobo that is not in a shuttle PC?

also the cheapest i can find it for is about $70. is there a cheaper alternative?

thanks again reform. this PSU is the perfect size hope that someone can let me know if this will work

There is a standard form factor that is called PS/3 that would fit within your space requirements. Many SFX (micro ATX) standard form shuld fit in that space too. A new form factor called TFX should fit too. All of them have the standard power connectors.
