Small powered speakers for whole-house audio?

My first thought is something from Tivoli, but they don't seem to sell those single speaker small units any more. (ipals or whatnot? Or at least my local audio place only has songbooks and larger)

I'm looking for something small and powered with a 1/8" input to be hooked up to an airport express.

I might not have a choice other than the songbook but it's a bit large and overpriced for what I need. This is for purely low volume ambient music in the guest bathrooms, bedrooms, and hallway.

I already have better setups for kitchen, LR, office, etc.

why not get some t-amps and cheap speakers?

I'm not familiar with tivoli. Do you need some sort of networking feature as well built in?

You could also run speaker cable from some central hub out to the individual rooms and then power it at the hub with stereo amps or an AVR with multi-channel in.

A t-amp and speakers are way too large for my needs.

I'm using Airport Expresses (wireless) which have 1/8" output..

These would work:

But they're expensive and overkill for what I want.

do you need the speaker to be small so you can hide it? What about t-amp in cabinet + in wall/in ceiling speaker

or 7.1 receiver in utility room + run speaker cables to each room you want audio and do matrix mode

I have iTunes running on my PC, with 3 airport expresses connected to my wireless network.

The airport express will stream my iTunes music/library over my wireless network. I can control all of this (which room has audio, etc) from my iPhone

This negates the need for running wires and dealing with a huge receiver and all that. Instead, I have klipsch 2.1, audioengine, etc spread all over connected to airport expresses.

Follow?

Ok, now, I can't fit t-amp speakers on my bathroom counter. But a small single powered speaker connected to the AE would work just fine.
