I have Cat5e running from my master bedroom into the office where the router and modem are, but it's not long enough to reach the router. I'm currently using the power lines to for the master bedroom. (Internet over Power works better than I ever thought it would.)
I figured I'd put a wall plate in the office (with the short Cat5e from the master bedroom) and click in a patch cable from the router.
I also thought I could put an RJ on the end of the short cable and use a coupler and a patch cable to connect to the router.
I prefer to do the wall plate, but I don't know if I wire it as it is on the other end (the RJ wiring in the master bedroom) or if I wire it in another fashion.
Thoughts? Any help is appreciated.
