will buy used, ebay etc

something that can handle xvid/divx, h.264 videos, dvd palying
decent battery (2 hrs)

widescreen would be nice too

most videos can be played easily on xbxo (first gen) with xbmc so cpu doesnt have to be great, I was thinking a core duo or core solo

any recommendations?

I just got an Acer Aspire 3680 for $399 (no rebate required) from MicroCenter in Chicago.
Because I was looking for a basic notebook, all I wanted was a 14.1 display, a 5400 rpm hard drive and an open slot for a memory upgrade.
It has a Celeron M 410 & everything you need for daily chores (no gaming though).
Price was too good to be ignored.
