Im thinking of converting my current PC into a SFF box like this
http://www.monarchcomputer.com/Merchant..._Code=80411&Category_Code=AMDBarebones

Anyone know if theres a small case like this that allows for fullsize PSUs? I'm a bit worried about the power requirements (monarchs only allow for 350 and 270 watt PSUs)

and it says if you get 350watt PSU that only certain optical drives will fit, and i def want to use the drive i have now, otherwise i'd prob go with the barebones monarch system w/350watt.

i have a 550watt, 2x18a dual rail right now and really like it.

i know my next PC will be SFF for sure, but would like to put my current hardware into one of these if possible.

check link in sig for current specs

thanks!

Those SFF PCs (especially Shuttle XPCs) have top notch PSUs. If you go over to forums.sudhian.com you'll see many ppl. running SN25P SFF computers (those have 350W PSUs) with 6800GTs (6800GTs use more power than the newer 7800 series), dual core processors, 2 or 3 WD Raptor hard drives, lots of RAM, etc.. Shuttle even has a new SLI XPC (with the same 350W PSU) and ppl. are running those with 2 x 7800GTXs, Raptor hard drives, 2GB or RAM, etc.. Their PSUs can handle alot.

I hope so cuz i run RAID and stuff.. its been the main stopping point for me from going SFF

i'll have to check into the shuttles. i just need something barebones mobo/psu

for now i'm gonig to use my 6800gt but i'll get a 512mb GTX or somethign liek that eventually to replace it. i'd like to get a dual core someday too

i'll have to check out some of the other rigs and see what they used.

thank you for the link

Silverstone has one. SG01 I think it is or something like that. Check their website.

Also as a sidenote Monarch has plans to introduce a improved version of their Hornet that has a 400w+ psu. It was supposed to be out this year but they have yet to produce it. Far as I know its still in design stage. I wouldnt wait on it though because they been talking about it since the very beginning of the Summer.

If you are a huge fan of Falcon Northwest they sell their Fragbox2 case & 520w psu but its very pricey. Silverstone makes their Fragbox cases.

If your willing to spend 140 on the monarch case, then do yourself a favor and spend 150 on the SG01. It allows for a full size psu (you can buy a modified one from silverstone with shortened cables if you want) and has 2 5.25 slots instead of just the one in the fragbox. Plus you don't have to get the crappy graphics all over the front of it like you do with the fragbox and monarch hornet (my opinion about the graphics, you may like them).

i believe the aspire qpack can handle full sized PSUs.. though you have to use a shorter optical drive.
