And the oil price jumps because of this...

lol, that was my first thought too. I paid $48 to fill up yesterday. I find it amazing that a regular car costs $50 to fill...lol

I heard the explotion thing on the radio. Part of the quib included the oil price jump... and yes, it was attributed to this...

Holy crap, you are kidding me? Wow.

Cnn just now is saying that some letters have arrived in washington claiming responsibility and has pictures of the site before the explosions.

Not saying what the letters say though.

yeh, happened early AM. the walk to work was nuts, cops and soldiers everywhere

Soldiers?

Since it's government property & military, then yah - expect whichever branch of service this was to go full out on the person(s) responsible.

I bet it was a cherry bomb or similar firecracker. If it had been popped anywhere else, no one would have cared.

A guy in the story said he heard/felt it from the 44th floor in a nearby hotel.

It was built into an ammo box according to the article.

I guess they were hoping to get extra points for irony?

It was the damn hippies from Bezerkeley (Berkeley). They just figured they'd hit a Marine recruiting office in NYC to throw off suspicion!! ;)

Someone went to Times Square and had a bang-up time?

Shit like this is never good. Fortunately, no one was hurt.
It's one thing to protest the recruiters like they have in Berzekley...
This kind of protest is totally unacceptable.

i guess you haven't been to NYC for a while. I see soldiers with full automatic rifles on their backs here and there around manhattan, esp key areas like port authority.
