Small dot appearing on my screen. Is it a virus?

I woke up and found my computer monitor has tiny black spot on my monitor screen. When I try to go to the start menu, there are no icon. When I run other program, it also loses color and turning either white or gray. If i run any program, it just slow my 1.4ghz really slow until it freezes. I just formal my computer but that doesn't seem to help. Do you guys know what is going on? I'm also running antivirus right now.

hmm...maybe the monitor got a dot and you freaked and thought something bad happened...this could have caused you to think the computer is running slower when it could be running at same speed?

Anyway...run antivirus...prolly not a virus though

I just format my comp twice. When I run NAV 2002, the interface starts to get black. Then it get really slow as in you can't move the mouse smoothly. Weird. Also, why u think is the monitor?

Hopefully we aren't talking about a nice flat panel monitor are we? If so could be a dead pixel, my only gripe about LCD screens.
