There is a small chip next to the proc. on the card that gets real hot when I clock over stock, I mean hot as in its hard to keep your finger on it. What is this chip? If your looking at the proc and the card is in an upright postion it is the chip that is to the left of the proc and up a little. It gets way hotter than proc or memory and I don't know if this is normal. Thanks

Yeah, I noticed that too a few months ago when I got the card. I guess its normal. I did the same thing, put my finger on it, and it was red hot to the touch. I guess it was designed to withstand the heat.

Yup, it's actually the memory controler i think. Why? well, i put a heatsink on it, and i clocked my memory to 190mhz and no artifacts, then the heatsink fell off (i was cleaing it and the superglue didn't hold) and now, i get artifacts in some games.

I used a full size ramsink =D actually, it was bigger than the ram, so it stuck out a lot, but u konw that's good cooling! what i notice is the back gets hotter though, so i stuck a heatsink on the back too :D
