I've investigated SBS and have a few questions.
Situation:
1: We've got a licence to SBS 2k3 premium, and WinServer 2k3..
2: We're going to be wiping both clean in the next few days, and as of the moment a $20 router has a DHCP/firewall role and the Server has the DNS role.
3. We need Terminal Services, so the Windows Server box will be up as was as doing backup
Questions:
1. SBS I've heard is very piggy about demanding DHCP and DNS roles, Should SBS control both?
1a. Is there a way to have the Windows Server backup DNS/DHCP so connections (if not logins) can occur if SBS dies?
1b. Is there any backup script for Domain/AD info?
2. It scares the HELL out of me using SBS as both the firewall and main data server.. Are others in the AT communnity confortable with this?
2a. Running DCPromo on the terminal server for is a major security breach?
3. SBS rings every major feature requiring premium antivirus. (Exchange, Sharepoint website) Any suggestions on which product to get? (Leaning toward Symantec Antivirus 9.0 w/ Groupware Protection)
4. Will putting the SBS on the same network during the transition mess with the other DNS server?
Thanks
