Small business changing ISP, anything I should look out for?

I have a client that wants me around while he's getting new internet service for his business installed in case any issues arise. Right now he has DSL with a modem/router combo feeding two office computers and two additional routers each handling registers and surveillance cameras in the main building. I logged into the DSL router and didn't find any advanced setup- no ports forwarded, no firewall exceptions, nothing to indicate the other two subnetworks should be affected when this router is swapped out. Is there anything else I should look out for?

Only thing I can think of is one of the towns I do work for they have a dsl and cable connection the cable was put in recently. With that they had a few issues with other gov agencies because those routers/firewalls were looking for traffic on their DSL ip address and not the new cable one. Just had to get them to add the new address and everything was fine. IDK if your client has anything like that with their service but just something to be aware of.

Anything hosted that might have the old IP range in it like MXLogic, FOPE, etc.

Main thing to look is if any authentication (PPPOE, ID, password) is used by new ISP and make sure that it can and is configurable for the new ISP scheme.

Thanks for the info guys. I always get nervous before these network related jobs. It seems like something unforeseen always pops up that I end up having to bang my head against.

That's pretty much it. You just have to do your best to account for everything and be ready to handle the fallout when you realize what you missed. Almost no places maintain documentation to the level needed to catch everything.

Long day. The installer used a different entry point so I had to pull and sort a mess of cables and rearrange some of the routers. Much fun to be had. Probably going to have to go back and add a wireless AP to the office in back.
