I'm going to be doing something of the sort that RossMAN does, selling some hosting accounts and such, and so I'm going to need to bill easily monthly and handle transactions. My dad mentioned an American Express small business account, I wanted to get your opinions on this. I would be accepting credit card information and charging a fixed monthly payment.

I wonder what would happen if you had a legitimate billing system, and billed some large cumbersome company for low dollerage vauge work. Think they'd pay the small amount without bothering to investigate?

been done.

Usually small orders of say paper for a high amount. Most large business's do not really look.

Last job i had i was head of operations. one of my duties was buying supplies. I had this attempted on me a few times. Usually on paper or toner. they would call ask how much we use etc then bill us.

I'm sure it happens a lot.

I would look into the Amex thing but either you won't qualify -or- it will be costly.

1) You'll need an SSL cert, I would recommend a GeoTrust or CompleteSSL SSL certificate.

2) Some sort of customer sign up/billing/support desk. I would recommend WhoisCart for $25 (PM Fiveohhh) ... it's a nice simple application which can handle your new customer sign ups and billing.

3) Sign up for cc billing through Paysystems.com.

Good luck. Let's see if these words turn into action ... :p
