I am considering purchasing AnyDVD and DVDClone for DVD backup. Does anyone have anything good or bad to say about this software? Is there other software that is better that I should consider?


What about Game Jackal Pro instead of Alcohol120?

I can't say much about Game Jackal because I don't use it. The others I will say are definately worth the price. I have had them for a few years now and they just work. I have never experienced any system instability in using them. They are also frequently updated as well. If I have ever run across a disk that I can't backup, I know that there will be an update to address that in a day or 2. I have been pretty happy with the support in that regard. Just the other day I updated and behold, when I login today there is another version to get now as well. They are on top of this thing. While there are freewares that will accomplish the same thing with a little more work, I don't mind paying the developers for a quality program. I think you would be happy with them as well.

Alcohol 120, Clone dvd and anydvd have been in my collection for the last few years. I see no need to change as they do the work perfectly.
 
Haven't used CloneDVD or AnyDVD ... but do use CLONECD .... excellent and good support
For DVD Backups I prefer DVDFAB but CloneDVD may be just as good .. I just never tried it.

 
I had the original Game Jackal (before SlySoft bought them out) and it was wonderful. It was my favorite program, It was nice being able to run a game with no CD (I don't like using no-cd cracks).I got a special price upgrade because I owned the original. Anyway, I couldn't get anything to work on the SlySoft version. I haven't tried it for sometime now, but I plan on giving it a go after a few more revisions/fixes. why can you with older version of alcohol click on the virtual drive and click mount image. thne find the image and mount.

you cannnot do that with new versions and double clicking an image doesnt load it either even though i clicked all the options to allow it too.

any help?

i havent tried alcohol 52percent but im about to download it.

i normally use an old version

ahhh i just installed aclholo 52percent and the mount image works yessss. just how i remember it. sweet. product looks really promissing gonna test it for alittle now
 
try alcohol 52%. its totally free (comes with some crappy IE toolbar, but its easily uninstalled and doesnt leave traces behind) and if you decide you need the burning features, get 120%. i did and im 1000000% satisfied.

me too i switched from daemon tools... yet i do miss the right clicking on an image to mount

I have no problem mounting files using right click. Just go into the options/properties of 52% and select which type of images you want it to be able to mount. Works for me.
