This an excellent group of DVD, CD copy programs.

I haven't tried GameJackal, but I would expect it to work well and it offers some unique features.

Enjoy!

AnyDVD is probably the best "DRM filter" on the market, IIRC it is a driver that sits between your program and the optical drive itself so you can use any ripping program that you want.

And it also works well with CDs for creating play lists and labeling.

Excuse my ignorance but what do you rip an HD-DVD to? I've got an XBox360 + HD-DVD add-on and it's great but I have never tried to rip a movie because I don't know what I would do with it after that. 😕

I've heard that it can be used on a PC but what do you do with a ripped HD-DVD? By that I mean it's not going to fit on a standard or dual layer DVD right?

You save it to your hard drive and view it on your PC without handling discs.

Ah, that's what I suspected. I've got a 20" Dell 2001FP on my computer and a 50" Sony LCD projection in the living room. Which one do you think I want to watch my HD-DVD's on? 😉 If my Sony only had more than 1 DVI or a VGA input I'd hook my PC to hit. Unfortunately my TV is old. 🙁

35 to 70minute?

is safe to conclude that usb2.0 's bandwidth (or its lack of) will be the rate limiting step despite using a quad core?
or is anydvd decryption not cpu dependent?

Time to get a DVI switch. That's what many in the AVS Forum do.

It is a drive read speed limitation. It only rips at about 7-8MB/sec. USB2.0 can handle much more than that

OT, but what about an extra component input? I am using component output on my HTPC with excellent results, at least when it comes to videos and movies. Just a thought.

I tried finding a DVI switch locally (Best Buy, Circuit City, and CompUSA) and none of them carry one. Unfortunately for me my TV only has 1 DVI and 2 component inputs. 🙁
