When you drive a V8 with its inherent torque, there is absolutely no need for manually shifting, ESPECIALLY during daily commutes on public roads!

Depends on engine power\torque

Four cylinder engine: Manual

Six cylinder engine:
= or < 215 ft lbs: Manual
> 215 ft lbs: Manual, paddle shift, or automatic

Eight or more cylinder engine: manual, paddle shift, or automatic

Automatic in the vehicels I own at the moment.

Not a lot of preference.
