Slowly moving towards a new setup

I'm in a slow progress of upgrading my system. I would like to get a 2nd GTX 670 4GB to run in SLI, but for that I also need a bigger case. In the end I would like a Haswell-E setup, so the CPU/mboard upgrade will have to wait. In the meantime, my windows install has been acting up, so a fresh install is probably needed. So I decided to start my upgrade. First step will be:

Corsair 550D case
Samsung EVO 500GB
3TB Toshiba 5900rpm drive

I'm going for a silent but powerful system, hence the low rpm drive.

I personally am not a fan of low RPM drives. New 7200RPM drives are pretty darn quiet IMHO, usually most of the problems you'll see are due to resonance in cheap cases. The 550D's HDD mounting brackets do a good job of damping vibrations, so you won't notice a noise difference. You will notice a performance difference if you're doing anything other than storing huge media files.

Ok. But I am more or less only going to use the hdd for mediafiles and documents. With the new SSD I'm going to have ~660GB storage on SSD which should be enough for programs and games.
