Slower burn times w/ raid setup

Guys every since I went to raid setup:2 40 gig maxtors ata 100's w/ ata 100 promise fastrack,my burn times on my plextor 12x10x32x for a full cd have went from 5-6 minutes to 10 minutes.I still have the plextor as master and cdrom as slave on the same cable on the primary controller.I have the master controller disabled because of the raid.
I'm using the latest version of Nero 5.0.2.4
Anyone have any suggestions???
