Slow Wifi adapter/problem with router?

Maybe this needs to go to Networking.

If you have some time, I could use some help!

I have an ASUS VII Impact motherboard with a built in Wifi adapter. For some reason, this PC cannot access the full bandwidth I have available. On speedtest.net I get 21Mbps and on Speedof.me I am getting 16Mbps.

Here is the kicker. I have a laptop in the same room that can reach speeds of 50Mbps+ on both test sites. I can't figure out what is going on with this desktop and why I am unable to access the full bandwidth available compared to my laptop.

Any thoughts on where to begin on troubleshooting/solving this issue?

The ASUS AI Suite has been known to cause issues. If it is installed and running, quit the program and run another speedtest. If it is better, uninstall the ASUS WiFi Engine.
