Hello computer gods!

I recently pieced a desktop together with some pretty subpar components and I realize now what a mistake that was. So I am looking to upgrade a little bit at a time. I prefer AMD's and have heard really good things about Asus Mobos. I am looking to spend 500 dollars on a processor, an Asus, and an ATI 9800 pro. So for the most part I have roughly 300 dollars to put into the Mobo/AMD combo. I have 2 512 pc2700 ram sticks I can put into this. Just looking for tips or advice as to what to get and why. Thanks all
 
I checked out this review a little while ago and I have rather liked it since then. here is the review. It's not the best out there but it is stable up to 225fsb, has wi-fi and the lovely ASUS brand name. I would at least go AMD64 with your $300! You should get more out of your 9800 Pro that way.
