Slow sequential read on SSD with H61 mobo on Win 8 (fresh install)

I'm trying to figure out a problem I'm having with a new SSD (kingston v300). For some reason the seq read benchmark is way down to about 170 MB/s instead of the expected 400+. I've googled other peoples results on this drive and they're all 400+ so I know it's not normal.

Troubleshooting so far...

Updated sata drivers
Checked to see if it's AHCI (it is)
Swapped sata ports (from marvel sata 3 to intel sata 2) - zero difference

That's about the extent of my troubleshooting skills for SSD's.

Any ideas??

Yes, use ATTO not CDM to benchmark.

Read should be about the same. Write will be way faster with atto when using a sandforce sad, because as-ssd uses incompressible data.
