.xls & .doc open speed are intermittent, and it also happen with opening the same document as well. Sometime it takes less than a second to open the doc other times it takes as long as 10 second. I have check the network & services processes and it is not taxing the cpu, ram nor hdd.
It is the third time the boss is telling me about it (he is getting annoyed), but I couldn?t figure it out. Reinstall Office97 & apply latest version of SR-2 (Sr2bof97.exe) patch doesn?t help.
1.1 ghz Athlon
384 megs ram
40 gb hdd with plenty of space left (1 gb is set for paging)
