Slow network access in win2k?

ghetto buck

Senior member
Every computer I have installed win2k on has this same problem. When I go into network places and click on a computer it takes about 15-20 seconds before the resources and shares show up. Same thing when you click on a drive or shared folder from there, however if I create a shortcut directly to say a hard drive on the network it zaps right too it no problem. It seems like Windows 2000 is looking for more than it needs to essentially.

I there a fix for this problem? It seems highly unusual to me that 2k takes longer than 98 and ME to browse my network.

Thanks

I have the same problem, I just mapped the drives I want access too and selected re-connect at logon- No more delays.Right click on the drive still has a delay though.
