here's my specs:
athlon 1800+, 512 ddr ram, mobo is asus a7v333, a seagate 80 gig as prim master, 60 gig maxtor as prim slave, cd as secondary master, and a newly acquired 160 gig western digital as secondary slave. all 8mb cache/7200rpm.
i was aware of the fact that hdds over 137 gb requires an ATA card to enable the os to recognize all the storage space. but the new one i just got only requires a registry tweak to bypass the 137gb barrier. so i followed the instructions on the provided cd, and alas, it shows 150 gigs (10 gigs system filing i guess).
but whenever i try to back up my stuff on my new harddrive or just simply copy/paste, it takes forever to copy the files, in comparison w/ my other 2 hdds. but after the files are copied onto the drive, they work perfectly fine.
anybody has a clue to why my harddrive is so slow? thanks in advance.
