Slow hard disk performance

I have a motherboard with highpoint ATA-66 and a IBM 60gxp 7200rpm ATA100 running Windows XP but according to the Sandra benchmark my harddisk is running at about the performance of a 5400rpm ATA-33?!?!

any suggestions...TIA
 
I had the very same problem. I changed to older win2k drivers for the highpoint 370 on my VP6. More than doubled my scores.
Try not using the highpoint drivers from XP.
