Slow FTP Uploads w/ SMC Barricade Wireless Router

Hi there...

I am experiencing very slow upload speeds on my new SMC Barricade Wireless Router to my website's FTP. Is there a port that needs to be opened to increase this speed or a setting to be set in the FTP client? I'm using passive mode....
