Am I honestly the only one who thinks these forums have become painful to use due to performance problems? Ever since the last maintenance downtime. As I mentioned in another thread, it's not every single click, but it's happening a significant percentage of the time. I'd estimate maybe 20% of the time I see pages taking from 2 to 5 seconds to begin loading, occasionally longer. There's no real pattern; it happens browsing forums, browsing threads, making a post, previewing a post, doing searches such as 'New Posts', etc.

Nothing on my system has changed, and I visit maybe a dozen other forums on a fairly regular basis and all of them are consistently very responsive.

I hate to be this guy, but have you tried clearing your cache? The new servers are considerably more responsive and are hosted with Amazon Web Services with a considerable infrastructure improvement. There shouldn't be any major slowdown issues for you unless there was a caching problem. If there was a pattern or something repeatable that we could reproduce, we'd be happy to follow-up.

Is it persistent for you, or only certain times of the day?

Well we can be VERY GRATEFUL they didnt put VB4 or VB5 here...... THEY ARE DISGUSTING UGLY TRASH and it would be worse, trust me!!! (Worse in every way)

I think they are ugly and slower........ I leave any site that goes to that garbage...... (I dont like things getting worse)

This by FAR the slowest forum that I currently frequent. Nothing else even comes close.
I wish I had a good answer for you. I've looked into it, and all of the performance metrics on the server side show that things are running well. Nor is anyone else reporting a problem.

At this point I suspect it's a network issue, which is a problem because there's not much we can do about those.🙁

I haven't booted my Linux drive recently, but in Windows 7 HP 64-bit SP1, it's been as fast as ever, on both my G3258 @ 3.6Ghz desktop, as well as my 1007U @ 1.5Ghz laptop. Using Waterfox as web browser, and NoScript, and Flash Player is set as "click to activate".

Try using Waterfox and NoScript, those of you with performance "issues".

Then again, it could be a network issue, in which case I have no solution. I recently upgraded my 25/25 FIOS to 75/75, and during primetime, my speeds actually went DOWN, from 30Mbit/sec down to 24Mbit/sec down.

At 3AM, though, the speeds pick up a bit. Verizon peering problems all around.

Im sorry that its so slow for you buddy...

Have you tried to disable scripting?? (Active Scripting (Javascript)) That may help you....... Although another member here said that didnt help him at all when I suggested it

Sorry to say, this has never resolved itself. And still, it's pretty much the only forum on which I have any speed problems.

I'm still seeing the same delay, typically from 2-5 seconds when loading any page in the forum, then the page pops into view. Page rendering doesn't seem to be an issue. Can be any page - the main index page, any forum, paging through longer threads, even the user CP. Occasionally (rarely) the page appears very quickly, in what I'd call normal responsiveness. Changing browsers does nothing, it's same in every one.

I'm using Comcast with a 50 Mbps connection, like millions of other users in the US, so I can't see any reason that it would be a network issue.

Hey there Carson,

Thanks for the trace. I've asked one of our tech guys to look into this.
