I have always had an odd problem with Ethernet where my file transfers will move in one second "spurts". It's almost like every other second it's sending, and then every other second it's doing nothing. I always assumed it was a firewall or avast's network scanning.
I just reinstalled though, and the first thing I did was to see if still did the 'spurts'. It did.
I also tried swapping the cable with no sucess. Other people on my lan don't have this problem. I'm out of ideas!
My motherboard is an Asus A8v Deluxe. It has the Marvell Yukon Gigabit ethernet, but I'm only running it at 100 mbps. I am running Windows XP w/ SP2, but used to be running the 64 bit version.
Any help would be greatly appreciated!
