Slow DSL, Verizon No Help

Amtrak

Banned
For awhile, the internet at my location has been VERY slow.. Here is the story:

A month or so ago, our phone line wire got damaged. Verizon came out anf fixed this and then the internet connection goes away, but the phone is now ok.

The Verison DSL guy comes out and says its probably our router because his little "tester" said it was fine...he even called there central and they ran tests, etc.

SO we replaces the router even though I really think it is verizon since the router has never had any problems and it happend a day after!

After replacing the router, the internet is now working, but VERY SLOW. When I turn on the computer it will be very slow at first, but pick up speed after awhile and then sometimes get slow again.

The bottom line is that verizon is useless and I need to know if there is a way I can tweak this back to the way it was.

Thank you.

You kind of screwed, not a lot you can do if your issue is on Verizons side. Just remove the router for now, test the speed with just your pc attached to the modem, and complain to Verizon to fix it.

I have tried the "no-router" method-I use to have cable but it was extremely slow so I switched to dsl, now see whats happend...

Realisticaly...If I call Verizon AGAIN, what can I do??

You may want to copy/paste this box:
