I have 2 comps, they both share an internet connection and r plugged in the same power socket using an extension. This is the way these are connected....

yet when one is playing The Sims2 and the other is playing CSS, when one freezes, so does the other ?!?!?!?! and they unfeeze at the same time. Thats freaking me out cos i dont know why on earth they would both freeze and unfreeze at the same time, even when both playing different games.

Thats weird isnt it, does anyone know why this is happening cos its happening alot tonight n its driving me crazy lol heeeeellpp !

How is the internet connection shared?

BTW, please shrink your signature. Use the Anandtech rigs section for that type of thing.

Its slowing down because one computer is dependant off of the other to feed it information because you're running ICS (the host). If you buy a router/switch/hub, you wouldnt expereince this at all. Make sense? If the computer not running ICS slows down, the other doesnt, right?

yeah, when the ICS one freezes it freezes counter strike too, dunno why the ICS one would slow down though. The spec for the ICS one is

Athlon 64 3000+ 754 (no overclocking)
1gb DDR400
Galaxy 6600GT
GA-K8NS (non pro)
Lite On CDRW
floppy
200gb ide
250gb sata
stroke light, neons
Running 2.2mb connection on a USB ADSL modem

thats a fresh install of windows too, only freezes every few minutes or so when both comps are playing games for some reason. The comp feeding of the ICS one is the one in my sig.

Any idea's ? #

EDIT - btw, they both have mega crap voltage rails on the +5V rail. it drops as low as 2V, it fluctuates really bad but it always has, bought em both new PSU's n so on but it didnt change a thing, i think its just the boards.

Its slowing down because ICS probably has a higher priority in the service queue than most of the other stuff you're running.

i see what u mean, but ive been running ICS for nearly a year with no prob, its only started happening since i got that 6800 ultra. damn thing has 2 molex inputs and it says they both nead their own rail.... i only have 2 rails coming out of the PSU lol my voltage rails were bad enough before i got it, now they are even worse.

If it carries on i'll try reinstallin windows on the ICS comp or switch the modem over... actually maybe its best i take ur advice and invest in a good router.
Thanks for ur help, its highly appreciated.
