Slow deletes

3TB hard drive over 2TB still available.

When deleting many files process slows to a crawl and stops. Recycle bin NOT being used. Resource monitor shows no activity on the drive.

Drive dying? Onboard cache problem?

I fixed the problem by putting a TASKKILL command to terminate the program at the top of the batch file. But it took a second or two to die. The MB forum supplied some insight. The ransom ware checking function appears to have problems. They gave me the name of the driver and I kill that instead. Much faster. They also said they are working on the problem.

Thanks. I hate threads that just dead end. I posted the same reply in the OS section here, in the ZTree forum and in the JP Software forums.

I must give kudos to the Malwarebytes forum for telling me about the ransonware driver.
