slow core speed?

I have an AMD athlon (TM) XP2400+ with a ASUS A7V8X mother board and I have run a cpu speed test (Downloaded from CPU-Z) The results dont seem to match those given in their example. My system has finished with a core speed of 500 MHZ, Multiplier *5, FSB 100MHZ, Bus speed 200MHZ. On the CPU-Z web site they list an example of a AMD Athlon (TM) MP 2200+ which gave a core speed of 1800MHZ, multiplier of 13.5, FSB 133.3 and a bus speed of 266.7.....I know very little about the relevence of these figures but to a non expert like me, mine looks slow! Can anybody confirm if they are slower than they should be and if they are what I can do about it. Many thanks.

Have you been messing with the settings? What does the BIOS report the CPU as? If the BIOS says it's an XP2400, then the software is inaccurate.
