hey there i have a problem with my computer, after i dial up to the internet the whole computer goes realy slow i scanned for viruses did a selective start up cleaned out all temp files it seems like something is piggy backing once i log on.....could there be something i can to do to fix this all help will be gratefully appreciated

oh the operating system is windows ME🙂
 
Maybe you should try the ctl-alt-del thingy and turn off all the background programs you don't what running.... and see if it makes a differnence.

Then try narrowing down to the proccess that makes your computer dog slow.
 
its not the internet connection shouldnt make the computer run like is it serioulsy under resourced , its a amd 800mhz which should be ok to run winme but its like somethings happening ,,,i just thought someone here could shed some light,,,,the computer runs well but as soon as it handshakes and connects to the net

hey i found that i had to get rid of the tcp/ip and dial up networking through add remove programs and i had to edit the registry, so if anyone else has the same problem this seemed to fix mine🙂
